Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and improving the condition of Goodwill of the Olympics and Rainier Region (GORR) facilities operating throughout Washington. The Technician is semi-skilled in several trade fields and in addition to performing maintenance projects, the technician completes assigns work orders. The Technician helps to maintain a computerized work order system (Bluefolder), makes decisions on work priorities based on the schedule and direction of the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Maintenance Manager.

Preventive maintenance and building improvements include electrical, automatic entry systems, painting, plumbing, carpentry, refrigeration, and HVAC projects. Rate:

$20.98 - $22.80 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Maintenance Technician responsibilities include the following and other duties as assigned.

  • Works directly with the Supervisor to assist in maintaining facilities.
  • Completes work using an automated work order system such as Bluefolder or similar software.
  • Takes an active role in accomplishing tasks and provides leadership to Apprentices and co-workers by modeling initiative, customer service, efficiency, and technical ability.
  • Works to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal customers through communication and responsiveness.
  • Organize resources and establish priorities for building or remodeling projects.
  • Inspect buildings, grounds, equipment and fixtures to determine needs for maintenance or repair.
  • Perform construction, maintenance and repair work on facilities including painting, plumbing, electrical, automatic entry systems, refrigeration equipment, and HVAC systems.
  • Repair or alter buildings, facilities, and other structures from plans, sketches, written or oral instructions.
  • Install, maintain and repair plumbing, electrical, and other systems and equipment in buildings and utility distribution systems.
  • Operate construction tools, equipment and power tools.
  • Follows safe work practices.
