This position is contingent on contract award.
Location:
Fairchild AFB WA and CONUS/OCONUS travel.
This is a non-exempt service employee classification. Overtime and paid time off will be administered in accordance with federal SCA standards and the prime contract stipulations. Rate: $30-40/hourly. A health and welfare fringe benefit allowance of $5.09 per hour up to 40 hours per week will be provided in addition to the base hourly rate
Job Summary:The Aircraft Mechanic II/APG (Airframe, Powerplant & General) manages total maintenance, launches and recoveries, and daily upkeep for assigned aircraft.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be a US Citizen with a valid driver's license.
- Must have an active Secret Clearance.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of direct hands-on aircraft maintenance experience with preference for prior work on Air Force wide-body platforms, preferably KC-135) or equivalent.
- Must have a valid passport.
- Must have a FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license preferred but not required.
- Must be able to read complex blueprints, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams.
- Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays and overtime.
- Inspect, repair, and service airframes, engines, and related mechanical systems.
- Supervises and execute aircraft launching recovering, towing and marshalling.
- Maintains aircraft forms, logs, and digital maintenance data records accurately.
- Inspects preflight, post-flight, and special hourly or periodic maintenance checks.
- Follows strict tool control and foreign object damage(FOD).
- Ability to travel CONUS/OCONUS.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
The working conditions are able to work in tight/awkward and high spaces, and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Physical RequirementsThis position must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as well as have the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time. Physical requirements of the position may also include, but are not limited to, bending, twisting, and lifting and climbing.
