This temporary position is 15 hours per week and requires a safe driving record. Nights and weekends may be needed.
You will drive a 16‑passenger van and transport youth to various events and programs, building relationships with young people and their families.
Core Daily ResponsibilitiesThrough a race equity and inclusion focus, we envision a safe, connected community where all youth and families are supported and empowered. The role involves:
- Meet young people and families in their homes, community, and schools; build relationships while transporting them to programs.
- Facilitate relationships with community partners and co‑workers to convey information regarding each young person’s safety, behavior, and well‑being.
- Participate in trainings and meetings as needed.
- Maintain the highest integrity and follow the rules of conduct for Pierce County Juvenile Court employees.
- Work evenings, days, and/or weekends to meet transportation needs.
- Drive a 16‑person passenger van.
- Work no more than 16 hours per week.
You should be adaptable, forward‑thinking, and compassionate while maintaining the safety, security, and well‑being of young people. You should support a vision of a safe, connected community where all youth and families are empowered to build on their strengths and reach their full potential.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Completion or G.E.D.
- One or more years’ experience working with youth ages 12‑18.
- Additional education and experience may substitute for the recruitment requirements.
- A valid Washington State driver’s license is required.
- Ability to successfully complete a Pierce County background investigation and polygraph exam is required prior to employment.
