Job Duties
- Operate all equipment.
- Stock ingredients from the delivery area to storage, work area, and walk‑in cooler.
- Prepare product.
- Receive and process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment approximately daily.
Orientation and training are provided on the job.
CommunicationAbility to comprehend and give correct written instructions. Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co‑workers to process orders both over the phone and in person.
Essential Functions / Skills- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use calculator).
- Must be able to make correct monetary change.
- Verbal, written, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers for rapid and accurate movements.
- Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when removing trash and performing other outside tasks. In‑store temperatures range from 36°F in the cooler to 90°F and above in some work areas. Sudden changes in temperature in work areas and while outside. Fumes from food odors. Exposure to cornmeal dust. Cramped quarters including walk‑in cooler. Hot surfaces/tools from oven up to 500°F or higher.
Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
Sensing:
Talking and hearing on the telephone. Near and mid‑range vision for most in‑store tasks. Depth perception. Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
The ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet strict quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
Physical Demands- Standing: Most tasks are performed from a standing position. Walking surfaces include ceramic tile, “brick” with linoleum in some food processing areas.
- Walking: Generally in short distances for short durations.
- Sitting: Paperwork is normally completed on a desk or table.
- Lifting: Bulk product deliveries occur twice a week or more and are unloaded by hand truck. Deliveries may include cases of ingredients and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds (up to 3' × 1.5'). Cases are lifted from floor and stocked onto shelves up to 72″ high.
- Carrying: Large containers weigh 3 lb 7 oz, occasionally pizza sauce weighing 30 lb. Trays of dough weigh ~12 lb.
- Pushing: Pushing trays on dollies (24″–30″) requires up to 7.5 lb of force; trays may also be pulled.
- Climbing: Infrequently navigate stairs or climb a ladder to change prices, wash walls, or perform maintenance.
- Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at the waist for pizza assembly; duration ~30–45 s each time, repeated throughout the day. Also at the front counter and when stocking ingredients.
- Crouching/Squatting: Performed occasionally to stock shelves and clean low areas.
- Reaching: Continuous reaching upward, down, and forward. Workers reach above 72″ to turn on/off oven controls, change signs, lift and lower objects. Reach down to scoop cornmeal or wash dishes. Reach forward for toppings, ingredients, cleaning work surfaces, or answering phones.
- Hand Tasks: Eye‑hand coordination essential. Frequent use of hands, forearms, and wrists. Manipulate pizza peel, rolling cutter, and pinch during pizza box assembly. Ability to grasp cans, phones, pizza cutters, and pizza peels.
Team members may be required to utilize pencils/pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutter, and pizza peel.
Additional InformationDeliver product by car to customers’ doors; deliver flyers and door hangers.
Requirements- Valid driver's license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
- Access to an insured vehicle which can be used for delivery.
Navigational skills to read a map, locate addresses within a designated delivery area, and navigate adverse terrain including multi‑story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying product.
Physical Demands (Delivery)- Carrying: Carry pizzas, sides, and beverages while walking and climbing.
- Driving: Deliver pizzas within a designated delivery area; may make several deliveries per shift.
- Walking: Travel between store and delivery vehicle and from vehicle to customer location.
- Climbing: Navigation of five or more flights of stairs may be required.
Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when delivering product, driving, and couponing.
Sensing:
Far vision and night vision required for driving.
