Warehouse Worker
This position is responsible for the loading, unloading, receiving, handling and shipping of freight.
Essential Duties
- Operate safely and in compliance with all established HSSE policies and procedures
- Read trailer manifests and BOLs to determine items to be moved, gathered, staged, distributed and/or shipped
- Load/unload containers, lift materials, verify and receive POs and BOLs, count and label
- Pack and/or ship materials in compliance with DOT, HAZMAT, and Carlile policies and procedures
- Consolidate boxes and pallets for shipment
- Note damaged freight, record on BOL and photograph OS&D using handheld RFID guns
- Maintain good housekeeping standards with focus on the care and custody of materials
- Prepare and prioritize orders for shipment to include delivery documents
- Prioritize and complete day-to-day activities as assigned based on customer needs, as directed by Supervisor
- Use forklift and other equipment to carry out essential duties
- Interact with drivers and work together to process freight
- May assist with customer pick-up/drop-offs, loading and securing flats
- May assist with receiving Northern Air Cargo freight
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 year previous material handling and forklift experience, preferred
- Must become forklift certified

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Follows instructions, responds to management direction, takes responsibility for own actions, completes tasks on time or communicates alternate plans

- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize work throughout the day
- Basic computer knowledge (email, tablet, handheld, etc.)
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Efficiently handle parcel packages (sort/seg) create a freight bill and palletize freight.
- Use of a handheld device
- Knowledge of DOT and Haz Mat regulations
