Position Overview
The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Heavy equipment may include trucks, front-end loaders, bulldozers, graders, extended boom equipment, tamping equipment, backhoe, compactors. The operator must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by legislation, policies and procedures. This position is on call or per job task order basis.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner to minimize injury, property damage or loss of life.
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
- Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required.
- Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
- Participate in routine maintenance.
- Maintain a clean and presentable workplace/station.
- Accomplish all tasks using best safety practices as adopted by EM385.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience on civil projects.
- CDL with tanker endorsement, preferred.
