Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Bus Driver at the District Office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting students, staff, and other passengers to various locations while ensuring a positive and secure travel experience. This full‑time position requires a commitment to punctuality, excellent communication skills, and a strong focus on safety.

Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a school bus or transit vehicle according to established routes and schedules.
  • Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
  • Maintain a clean and organized bus interior.
  • Follow all traffic laws, regulations, and safety procedures while driving.
  • Ensure the safety and well‑being of all passengers during transit.
  • Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking as needed, especially those with disabilities.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding transportation schedules and any issues that may arise.
  • Report any mechanical issues or accidents to the appropriate authorities promptly.
  • Attend training sessions and meetings as required to stay updated on safety protocols and transportation policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of routes, mileage, and passenger counts.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for passenger transport.
  • Clean driving record with no major traffic violations.
  • Previous experience as a bus driver or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and resolve conflicts in a professional manner.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to all transportation regulations.
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screening as required.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, late afternoons, and occasional weekends as needed.
  • Physical ability to assist passengers and perform job‑related tasks, including lifting and securing wheelchairs or mobility devices.
