Pay: $23.25 - $27.95

The Load Builder supports our Mission of Legendary Service Through Teamwork by safely and efficiently building loads for our drivers to deliver. Accurate load building saves time and money and is a vital component of the PARR team.

Responsibilities
  • Build safe and efficient loads of building materials by correctly reading "pick tickets" and invoices.
  • Read SKUs and identify material types to accurately build loads.
  • Load and unload company trucks with building materials, both by hand and with a forklift.
  • Complete inventory adjustments and tag loads.
  • Receive delivered inventory by inspecting paperwork for accuracy and depositing inventory in designated locations.
  • Open and close the yard as needed.
  • Keep the forklift clean.
  • Ensure appropriate paperwork is completed as per company policy.
  • Maintain yard cleanliness during the course of work.
  • Know product substitutions, share that knowledge, and apply it to building the load.
  • Cross‑train as a backup driver, receiver, counter sales, and dispatcher if needed.
  • Proactively seek to learn products and applications for the end user.
  • Attend product knowledge meetings regularly.
  • Understand weight limits and length limits for the company’s fleet of trucks to load trucks safely and lawfully.
  • Wear proper high‑visibility and safety gear.
  • Safely operate equipment and always honk the horn and look before backing or rounding blind corners.
  • Perform daily safety audits of the forklift and report any malfunctioning equipment promptly.
  • Participate in the safety committee when necessary.
  • Review and complete Hold Harmless forms with customers.
Qualifications
  • OSHA Certified.
  • Forklift license.
  • Knowledge of receiving/inventory control principles, practices, and protocols.
  • Knowledge of dimension lumber, panel products, and other building materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret "pick tickets" and invoices.
  • Ability to concentrate and attend to detail amidst a busy work environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to grasp, talk, hear, and operate a computer and keyboard.
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds and carry objects 50 feet.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Both local and overnight travel may be required.
  • Ability to cover different shifts when necessary.
