Industrial Electrician
This role is a hands-on Electrician position within a maintenance department in an industrial manufacturing environment. You will install, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and upgrade electrical systems and equipment, with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and operational efficiency. The work involves motors, controls, automation systems, and industrial electrical equipment, supporting both production operations and facilities maintenance.
Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical systems, including motors, motor controls, drives, transformers, switch gear, and distribution systems.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, instrumentation, and control system issues throughout the facility.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical equipment to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to support accurate installation and repair work.
- Troubleshoot and maintain PLC-controlled equipment and automated systems to ensure stable and efficient operation.
- Install and terminate conduit, wiring, cables, and electrical devices in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Inspect electrical systems and equipment to identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions to prevent failures.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production interruptions to restore operations quickly and safely.
- Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering personnel to improve equipment performance and reliability.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and parts usage in accordance with facility procedures.
- Assist with equipment upgrades, plant improvement projects, and new equipment installations from an electrical perspective.
- Ensure strict compliance with all company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and electrical safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and assist with general maintenance duties as needed, including support for facilities and packaging equipment.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, instrumentation, and control system issues in an industrial environment.
- Strong experience installing, maintaining, and repairing motors, motor controls, drives, transformers, switch gear, and electrical distribution systems.
- Demonstrated skill in electrical troubleshooting for industrial equipment and production machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Hands-on experience with PLC-controlled equipment, including troubleshooting and maintaining automated systems.
- Knowledge of electrical controls and automation systems used in industrial manufacturing.
- Mechanical aptitude with exposure to conveyors, gear boxes, and packaging equipment.
- Experience working with VFDs (variable frequency drives), pneumatics, hydraulics, and conveyance systems.
- Ability to install and terminate conduit, wiring, cables, and electrical devices in compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Familiarity with sensors, photo eyes, optical sensors, and sensor-based control systems.
- Commitment to following safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and electrical safety standards at all times.
- Capability to perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of TAFT, CA.
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in TAFT, CA.
