This position provides administrative support for Human Resources recruitment operations. The position will also support the Senior Recruiting Coordinator with repetitive recruitment of positions such as custodial, grounds worker, administrative assistant, and graduate assistant positions.

MAJOR DUTIES
  • Serves in an entry level recruitment position for repetitive hiring of facility positions such as custodial, grounds worker, administrative assistant, graduate assistant positions.
  • Prepares a variety of recruitment related metric reports.
  • Assists with answering departmental telephones and greets visitors; provides information and assistance; takes messages; refers to appropriate personnel.
  • Schedules appointments with new employees to complete onboarding.
  • Ensures all onboarding documents are completed within the appropriate time frames per state and/or federal laws.
  • Maintains the “Jobs at NSU” website on NSU’s main page.
  • Creates and completes requisitions in Cornerstone for the facilities management positions of custodial, grounds workers, administrative assistant positions, and graduate workers...
  • Maintains a variety of files and records.
  • Performs related duties.
  • Must be able to maintain regular attendance.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
  • Knowledge of university policies and procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of Human Resource recruitment practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
  • Skill in the provision of customer services.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS

The supervisor assigns work in terms of general instructions. The supervisor spot‑checks work while it is being done and reviews most or all of completed work for compliance with specific instructions, procedures, accuracy, and the nature and propriety of the final results.

GUIDELINES

Guidelines include department and university policies and procedures, Federal, state rules and regulations, Higher Education Regents and RUSO governing body policies. These guidelines are generally clear and specific, but may require some interpretation in application.

COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK

The work consists of related administrative duties. Frequent interruptions contribute to the complexity of the position. The purpose of this position is to provide administrative support for assigned university operations. Success in this position contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of those operations.

CONTACTS

Contacts are typically with co‑workers, other college personnel, students, faculty, vendors, and members of the general public. Contacts are typically to provide services, to give or exchange information, or to resolve problem situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or while intermittently sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching or stooping. The employee frequently lifts light and occasionally heavy objects. The work is typically performed in an office.

SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY

This position does not supervise other employees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with an associate’s degree.
  • Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines under stressful conditions and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Have a willingness to work fluctuating and flexible hours to include evenings and weekends where necessary.

Annual salary $28,188.00 with excellent benefits, including generous leave time. Anticipated hire date: 10/12/2026. Applications will be accepted until: 9/28/2026.
