Assistant Professor of Voice (Tenure-Track)

Description:

The Department of Music at Northeastern State University (Tahlequah, OK) seeks an Assistant Professor of Voice to begin in Fall (August) 2026. This is a full-time, tenure-track position.

Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include applied voice instruction for undergraduate music majors and minors, and teaching in additional areas based on department needs and the candidate's expertise. Possible teaching areas include, but are not limited to, vocal literature, group voice class, music appreciation, music business, or jazz and commercial music. Active recruiting of music majors/performers, service to the department, college, and university, and ongoing scholarly and/or creative activity are expected.

Required Qualifications:

Earned doctorate or other terminal degree in Voice Performance, Commercial Music, or Jazz Studies. Appropriate master's or doctorate will be considered a terminal degree on an individual basis. ABD candidates with significant progress toward degree completion will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

● Baritone or tenor voice

● Experience in CCM and Jazz styles.

● Previous teaching experience at the university or college level.

Transcripts may be scanned, saved and uploaded. An official/certified transcript is required upon employment.

Annual salary: $54,090.00
