Job Summary
Assists in the application of principles, methods, engineering fundamentals and techniques of civil and highway design engineering technology with the assistance of Auto Cad and other engineering software, by translating designs and providing technical support, to the Design and Right-of-Way sections of the Roads program.
Job Duties- Assists in the design of construction plans for roads and bridges using engineering and architectural software.
- Assists in the acquiring information from the design plans sheets in preparation to write legal descriptions, drawing of right-of-way documents and of right-of-way plans.
- Assists in finishing project by putting final notes on the plan and profile sheets, completing the summary sheets, and helping R/W with the drawing used for writing the legals for new R/W.
- Scans old project and putting them on disk so we can dispose of the paper plans and free up storage for current projects.
- Provides technical support.
No supervisory responsibility.
QualificationsEducational Requirement
Bachelor's degree from 4-year college or technical school in Engineering, Surveying, Design, or AutoCAD; or six years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience RequirementNo additional experience required
Computer SkillsAn individual should have knowledge of Design software;
Internet software;
Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
OtherSkills And Abilities
Must be proficient in most engineering software such as AutoCAD or Eagle Point, design, hydraulic modeling, interfacing word processing software, also with standard drafting and engineering equipment. Must have advanced mathematical skills and general knowledge of construction and surveying methods.

Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
