Branch Manager of Tahlequah Public Library

Are you a leader who thrives on building community, inspiring teams, and shaping what a public library can become? The Eastern Oklahoma Library System is seeking an innovative, energetic Branch Manager to guide the Tahlequah Public Library.

Located in the heart of the Cherokee Nation and home to Northeastern State University, Tahlequah is a thriving, growing community where education, culture, creativity, and collaboration come together. The Tahlequah Public Library plays an important role in that community—bringing people together and creating opportunities for everyone to learn, create, and succeed.

As Branch Manager, you will do more than oversee library operations. You will collaborate with a creative and energetic team, strengthen community partnerships, and help shape a vibrant library where learning, technology, culture, creativity, and community come together.

You will work alongside employees and community partners to embrace new ideas, deliver exceptional patron experiences, and create a workplace where employees are supported, empowered, and encouraged to excel.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to foster a positive, professional, and productive work environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patrons, staff, and partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing community needs.
Education And Experience
  • Master of Library Science or Master of Library and Information Systems (MLS/MLIS) from an ALA-accredited institution.
  • Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible library experience, including at least three (3) years of supervisory experience.
  • Level VI Oklahoma Public Librarian Certification (or ability to obtain within the required timeframe).

Standard

Schedule:

40 hrs. per week; includes some evenings and Saturdays.

Branch Manager II:
Beginning salary $61,152.00

Plus an excellent benefits package.
