• Communicate labor and delivery procedures and provide reassurance to patients and families.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with obstetric nursing protocols.
• Prepare equipment and assist the physician during labor, delivery, and examinations.
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies (e.g., preeclampsia, hemorrhage, fetal distress) using evidence‑based protocols.
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes.
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results.
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures.
• Comply with all regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing.

• One year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
• Preferred: AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification.
• Preferred: STABLE and ACLS certifications (AHA/ARC).
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position.

• Proficient reading, writing, and speaking in English.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions; basic PC proficiency.
• Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.

• Fine motor skills for procedures and equipment use.
• Mental resiliency and ability to manage pressure and irregular schedules.
• Clear visual acuity and communication ability.
