Providing emergency health care services to patients of all ages. Care includes management of minor medical injuries to accidents and trauma. Assess patients' clinical conditions, recognizing and prioritizing serious situations. Make immediate decisions and take proper action in emergency situations when a physician is not available. Operate and monitor general and specialized emergency care equipment. Administer prescribed therapeutic measures such as medications and IV therapy.
Record observations, nursing interventions, and therapeutic measures administered. Document specific health care requirements for patients. Plan and develop care delivery and implementation of the care plan. Coordinate the documentation of care among the team. Share responsibilities for sustaining adequate supplies and equipment in the unit. Ensure general upkeep of the unit and maintain a safe environment. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.
Good written and verbal communication skills required. Meet physical demands, including standing, walking, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
