About the Role

As a Quarry Heavy Equipment Operator, you’ll play a vital role in our daily operations, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials critical to our success. You’ll work hands‑on with the latest equipment, collaborate with experienced professionals, and contribute to a culture where safety and innovation are paramount.

What You'll Do
  • Operate heavy and light mobile equipment, including skid steers, as trained and directed to maintain quarry access points.
  • Perform pre‑operational checks and routine servicing of assigned equipment.
  • Conduct site clean‑up using hand tools and ensure work platforms remain clear and safe.
  • Safely run and monitor the crushing plant as required.
  • Assist with plant repairs and maintenance tasks, including basic welding and fitting, as needed.
  • Handle water hoses and perform cleanup while maintaining awareness of electrical hazards and slippery surfaces.
  • Report any operational or environmental issues promptly to the foreman.
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety procedures and use all required PPE in compliance with OSHA/MSHA guidelines.
  • Support the team in achieving high standards of productivity and environmental responsibility.
What It Takes to Succeed
  • Pass pre‑employment drug screening, criminal background check, and "Fit for Work" physical.
  • Demonstrate a professional, courteous attitude toward colleagues, supervisors, and the public.
  • Be flexible to work nights, weekends, overtime, and travel as needed.
  • Be comfortable working outdoors in extreme weather and on rough terrain.
  • Physical capability for climbing, stretching, driving/steering, sitting, twisting, and using hand tools.
  • Commitment to a strong safety culture and team‑based approach.
  • Mandatory:
    Minimum age of 18 due to work environment requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience operating heavy equipment is preferred.
  • Technical education or certificates in basic welding/fitting a plus.
  • State‑approved Welding Certification is a bonus but not required.

Work Environment Requirements
  • Frequently required to climb, balance, and perform tasks involving physical agility.
  • Regularly sit, climb, and use hand signals or equipment; occasionally stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, or reach above shoulder height.
  • Lift and move objects weighing up to 25‑50 lbs. as needed.
  • Work primarily outdoors, often in extreme weather and environmental conditions.
  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions; exposed to jobsite hazards such as moving machinery, high places, airborne particles, and loud environments.
  • Must have specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, to operate equipment safely.
