Talladega College is seeking an Assistant Professor to teach Computer Science courses in the Computer Science program. This is a tenure‑track position reporting to the Department Chair and is slated to begin in fall 2026.
Responsibilities- Teaching Programming, Database, Networking or Cybersecurity courses as well as introductory courses in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems and Cybersecurity curriculum.
- Teaching schedules may include in person, online, hybrid instruction and other instructional modalities that enhance student learning.
- Innovative and engaging use of technology in the classroom.
- Additional activities: curriculum development, academic mentoring/advisement, participation in Departmental and Division activities, support of college activities, and professional development.
- Active service on college committees.
- Other duties as assigned.
MS in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or a related field from an accredited institution and a minimum of three years’ experience in higher education. Applicants with an interest in cybersecurity, database and programming languages are preferred. The ideal candidate will also have excellent teaching skills; good interpersonal skills; effective written and oral communication skills; and the ability to function collegially as a member of the faculty, as demonstrated by experience in higher education.
The candidate will demonstrate experience or ability to effectively work with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse collegiate community. Industry or entrepreneurial experience is useful.
