REPORTS TO

Maintenance Group Leader or Supervisor

DESCRIPTION

Employees at this level are expected to perform minor repairs and improvements in a variety of trades under the direction of a group leader or supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform general maintenance duties on building and machines
  • Be able to perform preventative maintenance on the machines
  • Perform minor electrical work not requiring a licensed electrician such as replacing light bulbs and fuses
  • Assist in minor carpentry and repair work
  • Maintain machinery, equipment, and tools by cleaning, lubricating, greasing, and or oiling to ensure optimum working order
  • Apply paint, varnish, and stain to all types of surfaces in order to protect and beautify surfaces using appropriate tools and equipment
  • Perform related duties as required
  • Follow plant specified job specification and task list
  • Must know and follow all safety requirements, departmental and plant wide
  • Maintain 5-S for assigned areas and equipment
  • Must be able to complete required departmental paperwork
  • Have general knowledge of computer software and maintenance work order system
  • Must know LOTO (lock out tag out) procedure
  • Know the proper use of power, and hand tools
  • Know how to use a volt Ohm meter
  • Support the implementation, achievement, and maintenance of the Quality and Environmental Policies
  • Authorities for an employee are granted by means of work instructions, policies and procedures and/or direction provided by management to meet the requirements of the customer
Education
  • High School Graduate or GED
Experience
  • 1-2 years on the job training verified
Skills
  • Considerable knowledge of methods, materials, tools and practices used in electrical or mechanical areas
  • Ability to interface and work from sketches and prints
