QUALITY SPECIALIST I
Job Summary:
The Quality Specialist I supports the effective implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) and performs assigned Quality Assurance activities. This role contributes to product and process verification, warranty coordination, supplier oversight, and compliance activities. The Quality Specialist I helps ensure adherence to established quality policies, standards, procedures, and work instructions.
- Assist in the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the QMS across the organization.
- Support internal, customer, and third-party audits for AS9100, AS9110, FAA-145, EMAR-145, and other compliance requirements. Participate in 5S, FOD, and ESD program audits.
- Support receiving, in-process, and final product inspections as needed, verifications, and process validations.
- Validate and verify new repair processes and new capabilities prior to release for production use.
- Support the Nonconforming Material Report (NCMR) process and coordinate Material Review Board (MRB) activities with functional leads.
- Support warranty analysis and processing by coordinating with operations, shipping/receiving, contracts, and external customers including DCMA, government representatives, and commercial partners.
- Participate in supplier First Article Inspection (FAI) reviews and support production FAIs as required.
- Assist with supplier performance analysis, identifying trends in quality and delivery, and engaging suppliers and Supplier Quality as needed.
- Support new product introduction activities by ensuring required quality reviews and documentation are completed.
- Provide general support to QA functions and internal quality initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by functional management.
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
Associate's degree preferred. - 0-2 years of experience in a quality-related role preferred; entry-level candidates with strong aptitude and desire to learn quality systems (ISO
9001/AS9100) will be considered. - Strong work ethic and ability to follow detailed, multipart instructions. Able to break down broader objectives into manageable tasks and deliver on commitments.
- Strong attention to detail and effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Proficient with computer applications including Word, PDF Writer, Excel, and PowerPoint.
