Programming Recreation Manager
Reports to – Programming Leadership
Job SummaryThe Recreation Manager provides leadership to recreation staff during scheduled activities, engages with guests, and ensures all recreation programs are facilitated safely and effectively.
Summary of Essential Functions- Provide leadership and supervision for all lifeguards and recreation staff
- Ensure completion of records and reports
- Enforce all recreation area policies, rules, and regulations
- Manage recreation/Aquatics activities and staff to ensure successful experiences in coordination with Rec and Aquatics coordinators
- Assist in regular in‑service training sessions in coordination with Aquatics and Recreation Coordinators
- Ability to understand and make day‑to‑day schedules of employees
- Invest in part‑time leadership staff and hold accountable
- Ability to solve problems and find solutions
- Understands all recreation and aquatics activities
- Accept miscellaneous assignments as agreed upon with supervisors
- Uphold the values of Shocco as defined by the principles of Shocco.

- High School diploma required and college degree preferred
- Minimum two years of summer camp experience or experience as manager/leadership role
- Must be certified in Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for professional rescuers by the Red Cross (Provided by Shocco if needed)
- Must be present for the summer (Not many vacations or time off)
- Must be able to work 30-40 hours a week in outside conditions
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, carry it 100 feet and place it on a 4‑foot platform
- Must be able to drive company vehicles
- Must be able to abstain from use of tobacco products, alcoholic beverages and controlled substances

Employment and compensation are at-will, and therefore can be terminated, with or without cause, at any time without prior notice at the employee’s option or Shocco’s option.
