This position is within FSU's Department of Information Technology Services (ITS)
Responsibilities
ITS works closely with key campus stakeholders to develop plans and technology services in support of the educational and research missions of the university. Our services range from common good technologies such as email, network, voice and web services to specialized applications focused on data, integrations and reports for individual colleges and departments. Within ITS, the Accounts Receivable team handles processing, reporting and reconciliation for all ITS billable services.
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for detailed compilation, evaluation, reconciliation, and financial analysis of Information Technology Services (ITS) billing data. In addition, responsible for working with other ITS areas and ITS customers to update and process monthly auxiliary billing. Serves as an additional resource/backup on the cost side of ITS.
This position is responsible for monthly tracking and input of annual recurring, usage-based monthly recurring, and vendor pass through recurring billing charges into ITS billing. This also includes setting up new customers to ensure accurate tracking and budget information. This position will work with the Billings Senior Accounting Specialist and the Business Associate in ITS Billing to reconcile pass through charges from vendor invoices to ITS.
They will also communicate and work with service owners to keep standing work orders for billable services up to date. Performs highly specialized monthly reconciliation work between the billing system, the ERP system, and the customer Power BI billing reports. Performs monthly analysis on billing to evaluate any anomalies such as incorrect billing data, missing billing data, etc. Acts as a backup for the lead billing position within ITS Fiscal Operations.
Responsible for cross-training in the billing upload process. Ensure procedures for this backup position are significantly documented to allow for an easy transition if that role must be temporarily filled.
This position is responsible for documenting all revenue accounting procedures, including processes in the ITS billing system. Works with the Billing Senior Accounting Specialist on process improvement in compiling, reconciling, analyzing, and presenting this information. Additionally, this position will be assigned and will work alongside the Billing Senior Accounting Specialist on billing special projects, such as testing system upgrade, onboarding new services, developing improved reporting, and other ad-hoc reporting.
Responsible for collaborating with the Program Coordinator for NCT Infrastructure on billing/financial questions, updating customer billing information, and reviewing non-recurring billing transactions for accuracy. Ensures non-recurring project progress billing is completed accurately and timely. Creates and maintains non-recurring project schedules and meets with the Assistant Director of ITS Fiscal Operations on a regular basis to report on these projects.
Collaborate with the Assistant Director of ITS Fiscal Operations on special projects and cost accounting tasks. This may include report preparation, and financial expense transaction analysis.
Responsible for serving as an alternate P-Card proxy on multiple P-Cards within ITS. This entails weekly P-Card reconciliations in OMNI to properly enter general ledger coding and receipts into the system. It also involves coordination with the P-Card holders to ensure the documentation is received timely and accurately.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two years' experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (

Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and analytics.
Experience developing complex reconciliations with multiple data sources
Experience creating and maintaining specialized reporting
