Tax Principal

A highly experienced tax professional with at least ten years of public accounting experience and strong leadership capabilities. Provides final technical review on tax returns, leads tax engagements, manages staff performance, and ensures compliance with evolving tax laws. Full-time leadership position available immediately in Tallahassee, FL. To strengthen the firm's tax practice through expert technical oversight, staff development, and proactive client and business development leadership.

The Senior Tax Manager oversees a broad portfolio of tax engagements, ensuring technical accuracy, workflow efficiency, and high-quality client service while leading and developing staff and contributing to firmwide growth initiatives.

Key responsibilities include providing final technical review on tax returns and related documents across the client base, researching complex tax issues and developing resolutions and recommendations, staying current on developments in tax laws and accounting procedures, planning, coordinating, and managing client engagements to ensure deadlines are met, communicating effectively with clients to support their best interests, leading and supporting staff by setting objectives, establishing budgets, and creating a positive, high-quality work environment, monitoring quality control and personnel performance, assigning, tracking, and managing tasks and projects completed by staff and supervisors, playing an active role in mentoring and developing team members, building and maintaining internal and external networks to support business development, overseeing billing, collections, WIP monitoring, aging, and write-downs, and participating in and helping facilitate internal CPE and training programs.

Qualifications include CPA certification preferred, minimum of ten years of public accounting experience, demonstrated leadership and team development ability, strong decision-making skills with initiative, ability to remain calm, organized, and effective under pressure, and proven ability to manage a substantial workload in a fast-paced environment.
