    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    The employee in this position serves as an assistant to the Educational Policy Development Director. As such, he/she is responsible for maintaining calendars, preparing itineraries and making travel arrangements for all staff in the office. Additionally, he/she researches and summarizes materials for conferences and meetings. Confidentiality of these matters will be maintained at all times.
    * This position is not approved for telework and must report to the location listed above.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    * Acts as assistant to the Educational Policy Development director; maintains calendar for the Office of Equal Educational Opportunity (OEEO), prepares itineraries and makes travel arrangements for all staff in the office; researches and summarizes materials for conferences and meetings.
    * Provides clerical support to OEEO based on need and availability, and other program staff.
    * Receives, opens and reads incoming mail and OEEO mailbox emails; screens items and assigns to appropriate staff for response; proofs, edits and rewrites (for grammatical structure) letters, memos, narrative reports and technical assistance materials.
    * Ensures coverage of the main phone line. Answers incoming calls and forwards calls to the correct person within the unit and outside the unit.
    * Creates tracking documents for various office projects including reports and document routing. Tracks documents.
