Duties and Responsibilities This position is responsible for supporting the Department with Heavy Vehicle Use Tax (HVUT) and Initial Exempt compliance processes by reviewing HVUT and initial exempt transactions, as well as related documentation, to identify and correct errors. This position is also authorized to review and monitor title and registration documents to ensure compliance with Florida Statutes.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of methods used for organizing and presenting data. Skill in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of filing, typing, entering data, maintaining records, taking notes and completing forms. Skill in composing/drafting correspondence. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively by phone with internal and external customers. Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Skill in preparing reports and recording data. Skill in utilizing problem-solving techniques. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Skill in using Online Registration and Identity Operating Network (ORION), and/or Florida Real-Time Vehicle Information System (FRVIS).
Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to candidates with the following:
At least one year experience providing assistance to the public in person, or by telephone/email, verifying data/information, maintaining files and records, maintaining electronic databases, and using Microsoft Word and Excel.
