Regulatory Compliance Specialist, Risk Manager/Analyst
Insurance Analyst III -
This is a highly responsible professional position that provides technical and administrative support by independently conducting research, analysis and investigations of insurance industry business practices to determine compliance with the Florida Insurance Code and providing recommendations and regulatory solutions to management.
Utilizes an extensive knowledge of business practices and market regulation procedures to collect and compile data from market analyst and independently analyze and interpret complex data to support the Office's regulatory initiatives. Develops and independently maintains accurate databases of information collected, provides technical assistance to staff, and makes recommendations to management regarding opening investigations.
Utilizes an extensive knowledge of business practices and market regulation procedures to conduct complex investigations, independently compiles investigation reports, reviews cases for accuracy, and recommends solutions and corrective action plans to management. Independently drafts legal consent orders and accurately calculates penalty recommendations, when required. Utilizes market regulation procedures to independently and accurately maintain records of investigative materials. Independently monitors investigations from origination through final agency action.
Assists management with coordinating administrative and evidentiary hearings related to agency action, to include organizing and planning calendar events for other administrative functions. Assists and recommends solutions to management during settlement negotiations. Independently coordinates and accurately fulfills production of records in response to complex internal records requests and external requests for public records. Independently monitors complex legislative changes impacting the insurance industry and makes recommendations to management regarding necessary updates to data analysis and investigation procedures.
Communicates legislative and administrative developments to management and assists with training market regulation staff. Provides technical assistance to management on legislation, rule making, policies and procedures. Aids with designing and implementation of program budget, strategic goals, and development of the market regulation quality plan. Performs other duties as required.
Minimum qualifications for this position include the following required entry level knowledge, skills, and abilities: knowledge of basic principles of insurance and risk management, general insurance practices of insurance companies or other entities regulated by any states' insurance code, or general legal practices in a regulatory environment; knowledge of research, investigative, and problem-solving techniques and practices; skilled in use Microsoft Office programs with proficiency in Excel and Word;
ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to listen, apply, and understand instructions in both written and oral format; ability to handle confidential information; ability to critically think and draw logical conclusions; ability to effectively organize information to reflect the logical progression of events, procedures performed, and conclusions reached; ability to read, interpret, and apply statutes, rules, regulations, policies and procedures;
ability to organize and prioritize workload; ability to train others on processes and procedures; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; ability to work well as a team member; ability to present and discuss work product; ability to work within deadlines; and ability to maintain objectivity.
The annual salary for this position is $50,000. Employees of the Office of Insurance Regulation are paid on a monthly pay cycle. This is a non-remote on-site position located in Tallahassee, FL.
