Mechanic Assistant
Join our team as a Mechanic Assistant, where you will support a service technician specializing in crane repair. This role offers a comprehensive understanding of the construction industry, acting as the right-hand support to the manager. You will gain hands-on experience by assisting with communications, preparing quotes and estimates, and drafting contracts. This position includes traveling to job sites and engaging with customers and contractors.
Responsibilities- Assist the service technician in crane repair tasks.
- Support the manager by answering emails and taking phone calls.
- Provide accurate quotes and estimates.
- Travel with the manager to job sites and participate in customer and contractor meetings.
- Draft contracts and conduct job site surveys, including taking photographs.
- Assist in creating reports using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to handle hand and power tools effectively.
- Experience in construction management and project coordination.
Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of Procore and construction management software.
- Experience in on-site supervision.
- Service-oriented with maintenance technician skills.

WorkEnvironment
This role involves both office work and on-site duties, primarily in North Florida. The typical shift is from 8 AM to 5 or 6 PM, with earlier starts on site days, meeting at the shop by 5 AM and returning by 8 PM. The position requires regular travel, with most days spent at home.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tallahassee, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
