Your Specific Responsibilities:
Assists in developing and publishing the Structures Manual. Assists in developing Structures Design Bulletins and posting to the Department's website. Manages the Structures Manual Task List on SharePoint to coordinate revisions. Performs design tasks for in-house bridge design projects and participates in special project studies that include analysis, design, and calculations. Assists in developing and implementing proposals for new design policies and procedures.

Reviews revisions to the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Bridge Design Specifications. Assists with development of construction and material specifications originated in the Structures Design Office. Participate in various aspects of research projects including reviewing deliverables and implementing results. Assists in performing Quality Assurance Reviews (QARs) of the Districts.

Knowledge of Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Structures Manual, Soils and Foundations Handbook, Bridge Load Rating Manual, FDOT Design Manual, Standard Plans for Road and Bridge Construction, Basis of Estimates Manual, Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) Production Criteria Handbook Knowledge of AASHTO Load-and-Resistance Factor Design (LRFD) Bridge Design Specifications, Standard Specifications for Structural Supports for Highway Signs, Luminaires and Traffic Signals, Manual for Bridge Evaluation Knowledge of structural engineering practices and principles Knowledge of Computer Aided Design and Drafting software Skills in:
