Minimum Qualifications:
* Four (4) years of experience in accounting, financial management, financial account management, auditing, or account reconciliation, or
* Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field from an accredited college or university can substitute for the required experience.
Requirements:
Employment in this position is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal history check (fingerprint-based) in accordance with Chapter 435, Florida Statutes.
Office hours are from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, Monday through Friday. Not eligible for Telework.

Position Overview and Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities will relate to auditing and reconciling expenditures in the Financial Management Unit.
The incumbent will be required to complete training and attain proficiency in the Florida PALM accounting system to effectively fulfill the responsibilities of this position.
* Review and audit expenditure moves for accuracy and completeness; log and correct errors found
* Investigate reconciliation items on the monthly reconciliation report; work with section managers to collect correction entries
* Process reconciliation between PALM modules
* Assist with Payroll redistribution process; review exception report and distribute to Budget Officers/HR Liaisons for corrections and adjustments; audit redistribution for errors and omissions
* Monitor and process Property Pending corrections; update tracking log to ensure completion
* Conduct revolving fund reconciliation
* Assist in state fiscal year-end accounting requirements
* Serve as Access Control backup for FLAIR and PALM
* Communicate with Leadership to clearly and concisely articulate potential risks, and provide solutions
* Continually analyze internal processes and procedures to help improve operations
* Clearly and effectively communicate internally and externally

Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities
required for the position:
* Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles, methods of reviewing and analyzing financial data, and basic management principles and practices
* Knowledge of Florida Reference Guide to State Expenditures
* Ability to assess budgetary needs and formulate policies and procedures
* Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to operational and management analysis activities; to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations; and to document work and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices
* Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments; to communicate in writing and verbal effectively; to work independently, to solve problems and make decisions; and, to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
