Justice Administrative Commission
- Professional Accountant II -

The Justice Administrative Commission's Accounting Section is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Professional Accountant II to join the Revenue Accounting Unit. We hire for attitude and train for skills. The Justice Administrative Commission (JAC) is a small, customer-oriented state agency that provides administrative support to Florida's State Attorneys, Public Defenders, Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsels, Capital Collateral Regional Counsels, and the Statewide Guardian ad Litem Program.

JAC assists these judicial-related offices (JROs) in performing their administrative functions through the State's accounting, budget, financial services, and human resources platforms. JAC also reviews and processes bills from private court-appointed attorneys and associated due-process service vendors representing indigent individuals throughout Florida and ensures their compliance with the Florida Statutes and JAC's Contracts. JAC is not an Executive Agency in the State Personnel System but offers the same benefits as other state agencies, including State Group Insurance and Retirement.

Job Duties:

  • Auditing and coding all revenue receipts to ensure revenue transactions are accurate and recorded in accordance with Florida Statutes.
  • Entering all transactions related to receipts and revenue corrections into the FLAIR system for the JROs.
  • Making deposits with the State Treasury daily electronically (desktop/remote deposits) and over the counter at Wells Fargo.
  • Researching and resolving unreconciled deposits, revenue discrepancies, corrections, and other accounting issues.
  • Providing guidance and technical assistance to the JRO's regarding revenue deposits, supporting documentation, and related revenue procedures.
  • Conducting the administrative duties in FL PALM on behalf of our JROs' requests and the Department of Financial Services (DFS) Treasury Support.
  • Maintaining good communication and a great working relationship with the JROs.

Pay:
The minimum salary for the selected candidate will be $48,000 annually.

Experience Requirements:
Preference will be given to candidates with experience with FLAIR, FL PALM, and Microsoft Office applications.
