REGULATORY CONSULTANT
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Division of Licensing is seeking a Regulatory Consultant. This is an internal agency opportunity for current employees only.
Minimum Requirements:
- A high school diploma and six (6) years of professional or nonprofessional experience in administrative work, regulatory work, consumer complaint program work, interviewing, business administration, customer or public relations or investigations; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience which equals six (6) years can substitute for the above requirements; or
- A bachelor's degree (4 years) from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of professional or nonprofessional experience in administrative work, regulatory work, consumer complaint program work, interviewing, business administration, customer or public relations or investigations.
Job Duties:
- Performs complex examinations and analyses of licensee's criminal history and mental stability information received from various local, state, and law enforcement agencies, and other related information to determine continual eligibility for licensure.
- Creates Bureau of Regulation and Enforcement case files; refers and coordinates with Regulatory Investigative Section (RIS) within the Office of Consumer Services for any possible violations.
- Monitors and tracks licensees with active criminal cases pending in various courts and awaiting final disposition to determine continued eligibility for licensure.
- Updates appropriate databases to reflect administrative action taken against licensees.
- Provides information to consumers, agencies, individuals, licensees and complainants on their rights and responsibilities and provides information on the duties and regulatory responsibilities and functions of the Division of Licensing.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication.
- Ability to review data for accuracy and completeness.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Knowledge of basic computer operations.
- Knowledge of Chapter 493 and section 790.06, F.S.
