Government Operations Consultant II -
Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 Annually, based on experience
Position Location:
Tallahassee, FL (relocation benefits are not available for this position)
Your Specific Responsibilities:
- Serve as point of contact for assigned OSBI programs, ensuring timely communication, coordination, and issue resolution.
- Support SSBCI program activities through data collection, reporting, stakeholder coordination, and administrative tasks.
- Assist with development and refinement of program procedures, guidelines, and documentation.
- Track program deadlines, deliverables, and performance metrics across multiple initiatives.
- Provide technical assistance to program partners, community organizations, and business stakeholders.
- Support OSBI outreach, innovation workshops, and small-business engagement activities.
- Assist with preparation of reports, analyses, briefings, and program summaries for leadership.
- Coordinate internal and external meetings and maintain positive working relationships with agency partners.
- Conduct research to support program improvement, policy development, and small-business innovation strategies.
Basic Skills:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of small business programs, technical assistance resources, and state government operations.
- Knowledge of reporting, tracking, and compliance requirements for state-supported initiatives.
- Knowledge of program coordination, stakeholder engagement, and basic contract procedures.
- Skill in coordinating multiple programs simultaneously.
- Skill in gathering, organizing, and interpreting program data.
- Skill in preparing clear reports, summaries, and recommendations.
- Skill in communicating with stakeholders and supporting small business outreach activities.
- Ability to manage priorities, deadlines, and program deliverables across several initiatives.
- Ability to analyze information and support informed decision making.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, partners, and public audiences.
- Ability to adapt to new procedures, program changes, and evolving requirements.
Qualifications:
As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records.
Minimum:
Duties and responsibilities of this position must be performed at the official work site of the Department. Travel may be required.
Preferred:
Experience coordinating or managing multiple government programs/programs. Experience preparing reports, analyses, or presentations for leadership or public audiences. Knowledge of state agreements, procurement processes, and basic contract administration. Proficiency with Salesforce and MS Excel.
