POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the CJIS Manger I, this position is responsible for researching various databases to ensure information received or disseminated is accurate and complies with state and federal requirements. This position is also responsible for entering additions, deletions, and modifications to Computerized Criminal History (CCH) and providing quality assurance for accuracy to these modifications. This position must meet and maintain NCIC/FCIC certification as required and is responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of data housed within the department databases.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties include:
* Conducting research for accurate and complete criminal justice information by utilizing internal and external data bases or making contact with other criminal justice and non-criminal agencies to ensure all information received or disseminated is compliant with state and federal requirements;
* Conducting research for relevant information from multiple databases to support additions, deletions, and modifications to Computerized Criminal History (CCH);
* Analyzing multiple source documents, forming a recommendation, and entering addition, deletion, and modifications in CCH following Criminal History Record Maintenance (CHRM) standard operations manual;
* Resolving difficult, unusual or questionable issues in the review and processing of criminal justice information;
* Maintaining regular contact with local, state, and federal criminal justice, other criminal justice agencies outside the state of Florida, non-criminal justice agencies for the purpose of gathering required documentation to gain clarification as needed for record modifications;
* Ensuring quality assurance of all CCH additions, deletions, and modifications by conducting a secondary review of documentation for complete and accurate information;
* Evaluating and analyzing incoming requests and applying state and federal rules, laws, and procedures to formulate a recommendation and ensure compliance with agency requirements;
* Maintaining various logs and records of the requests received and processed; and
* Evaluating changes to CCH record and analyzes attached documentation to support the CCH addition, deletion, or modification.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
* Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication;
* Knowledge of the criminal justice system;
* Knowledge of the methods of data collection;
* Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data;
* Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques;
* Ability to operate computers and other office equipment;
* Ability to monitor criminal justice information activities;
* Ability to work independently by planning, organizing, and coordinating work assignments;
* Ability to communicate effectively; and
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with others.
Note:

BASE SALARY:
* $42,200.08
NOTES:
Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and/or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
