Technical Architect

We are seeking a seasoned Technical Architect to lead and execute a detailed technical assessment for a focused, small team. This highly specialized role requires a well-rounded professional proficient in evaluating existing systems, identifying technical gaps, designing solution architectures, and crafting comprehensive technical documentation. The Technical Architect will play a pivotal role in defining the current and future state of system and solution architectures, incorporating considerations for information architecture, master data management, and integration and security frameworks.

Familiarity with both on-premise data centers and cloud hosting environments is essential, as they must evaluate these options and integrate their findings into reports and recommendations. Strong communication and presentation skills are critical, as the successful candidate will be expected to effectively convey technical concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include conducting a thorough gap assessment, comparing current systems to desired future states; developing high-level designs for system architecture, solution architecture, and information architecture; evaluating and documenting technical requirements for master data management, integration, and security; assessing and incorporating on-premise data center and cloud hosting options into analysis and outputs; and delivering clear, concise, and professional reports and presentations.

Required experience and skills include 5+ years of hands-on experience in gap assessments with the following technologies/platforms: custom solutions,  Framework, SQL databases hosted on client data centers, XML databases and integration, Kologik (XML format), and Informatica (XML format). Strong communication and presentation skills are also essential for cross-disciplinary collaboration and stakeholder engagement.

Desired experience includes working with state and local government agencies or law enforcement organizations. Desired skills include expertise in assessment and gap analysis frameworks, on-premise and cloud hosting solutions, data quality and database design, information architecture, master data management, security architecture, and XML integration.
