The work you will do:
CADD Support Specialist II/Production Support/CADD
This position is essential to ensuring the effective use, reliability, and continual improvement of the organization's CADD applications. These tools are used by both internal staff and external clients, making consistent support, training, and maintenance critical to operational efficiency and project delivery. This position provides direct production assistance to CADD users across all supported applications and software. By offering timely troubleshooting, user support, and workflow guidance, the role helps maintain productivity, reduce downtime, and ensure that project teams can meet established deadlines and standards.
In addition to daily support, this position plays a key role in the strategic development and customization of CADD software, procedures, standards, and workflows. It assists with planning and distributing updates, enhancements, and documentation, ensuring that users have access to the most current tools and best practices. This work directly aligns with organizational goals for standardization, quality control, and continuous improvement.

Annual Salary Range: $53,310.95 - $68,990.64
Your specific responsibilities:
- Provide support to users of Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) software.
- Use various methods including e-mail, and user forums to respond to user support requests.
- Direct advanced support requests to and work closely with senior support specialists to resolve the issue while acquiring new knowledge of the product.
- Report support activities in the appropriate incident log and make reports to management as required.
- Assist in the customization of CADD software for adherence to FDOT's design and plans preparation requirements.
- Assist in the development of applications used to automate processes and improve operation of CADD software.
- Assist in the definition of specifications for the development of applications by development team members or contracted developers.
- Work closely with the Developers to provide input and direction throughout the development process.
- Assist in the review, development, and maintenance of assigned CADD training curriculum.
- Provide CADD training using various methods such as:
Teams Meetings, Webinars, Hands-on/On-site training to reach CADD users. - Report activities and progress to management as required.
- Work closely with senior support specialists on support calls and development to gain expertise with new CADD applications or processes.
- Research new technology and industry trends to expand personal knowledge of computer hardware, CADD software, and CADD training.
- Attend conferences, technical seminars, working sessions and other venues to acquire knowledge of trends and other developments related to CADD and FDOT's design processes.
- Share this acquired knowledge with peers and supervisors, and periodically report developments as required.
- Assist in the development, maintenance and application of documentation associated with the Department's CADD applications. This includes: the FDOT CADD Manual, Help files, CADD Website and SharePoint portals.
- Serve as a technical advisor and facilitate discipline-based Technical Advisory Committees (TACs), reporting these activities to management as required.
