• Provides and coordinates outpatient breastfeeding care.
• Demonstrates an understanding of diversity.

• Enhances and contributes to a safe environment for all colleagues, visitors, and patients.
• Communicates effectively with breastfeeding mothers, physicians, and colleagues to provide essential breastfeeding support in‑person, virtually, and via telephone.
• Educates staff members and community members in breastfeeding techniques.
• Oversees weekly breastfeeding support group.
• Assists in the breastfeeding retail store.
• Updates resources and documentation.
• Performs other duties.

• Associate degree (or equivalent) in nursing from a program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)

Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Two (2) years of registered nursing experience and two (2) years of International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) experience.

• Advanced lactation consultant training.
• Two (2) to five (5) years of obstetrical registered nursing experience.
• Five (5) years of lactation consult experience.

• Licensed as a registered nurse (RN) in accordance with Florida Statutes (F.S.), Title XXXII (Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 464 (Nursing), Part I (Nurse Practice Act) [includes multistate compact licensure].
• IBCLC credential from the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE).
