The Board of Nursing is looking for an experienced nurse leader to oversee nursing education programs in Florida. Overview The Nursing Education Director supports the Executive Director of the Board of Nursing and oversees nursing education program regulation, continuing education provider approval, and licensure-related education requirements. The role provides statewide leadership, consultation, and policy guidance for nursing education and practice standards.

What You'll Do

• Oversee pre-licensure nursing education programs and CNA training program approvals.
• Serve as liaison to the National Council of State Boards of Nursing for NCLEX data.
• Provide consultation and guidance to nurses, nursing applicants, and educational programs.
• Prepare Board of Nursing committee agenda items and assist with legislative bill analysis.
• Respond to inquiries related to the Nurse Practice Act and related rules.
• Lead the Education Unit: supervise a team of nurse consultants, manage performance, set expectations, ensure operational effectiveness.
• Represent the Board at state, regional, and national meetings; provide testimony in hearings.
• Coordinate licensure eligibility reviews for internationally educated nursing applicants.
• Support long-range planning aligned with Department of Health goals.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Nursing principles, curriculum planning, research methods, and data analysis.
• Ability to evaluate nursing education programs, develop policies/procedures, and produce professional reports.
• Strong written and verbal communication; effective workload prioritization.
• Proficient in electronic data management.
• Ability to utilize and manage electronic data processing, transmittal and website postings.
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations and provide guidance in complex situations.
• Ability to build relationships with government officials, health care professionals, and community stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Minimum:
  Current Registered Nurse licensure (Chapter 464, F.S.). At least four years of related work experience, including leadership experience, preferably in health care, regulatory compliance, or public health.
• Must be physically present in the office to effectively perform job duties and responsibilities.
• Preferred:
  Master of Science in Nursing with experience in nursing education.
