Responsibilities

* Responsible for safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment including backhoe, trencher, front end loader, skid steer, and mini excavator. Responsible for routine maintenance of equipment operated.

* Assists with concrete finishing, form setting, fence construction, air hammer operation, street repairs, and parking lot maintenance. Performs carpentry duties such as lay-out, grade, and construction of forms for retainer walls, benches, tables, sidewalks - structures requiring the use of cement, mortar, block, and related building materials. Assists with construction, maintenance, repair, and demolition of University structures as required.

* Maintains records and timekeeping as required. Performs other related tasks in support of Facilities Maintenance. Operates University vehicles and performs other related work as required in support of Facilities Maintenance.

Qualifications

* A valid State of Florida or Georgia Driver's License or ability to obtain upon hire.

* High school diploma or equivalency. Relevant experience may be substituted for education.

Anticipated Salary Range

The anticipated starting salary is $31,320, commensurate with experience.

Considerations

This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.

This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check.

The work schedule is 8am to 4:30pm with a 30-minute break.
