Electrician
Job Summary:
An Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, wiring, equipment, and fixtures in homes, commercial buildings, and industrial settings. The Electrician will work with a variety of electrical components and systems, ranging from basic wiring to more complex electrical systems, such as lighting, communication systems, and security systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain electrical systems, wiring, equipment, and fixtures, according to local and national electrical codes
- Inspect electrical systems and equipment to identify hazards or defects, and repair or replace as necessary
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems, and recommend solutions to customers
- Collaborate with other contractors and workers, such as HVAC technicians and plumbers, to complete projects
- Install and maintain lighting systems, including LED lighting, outdoor lighting, and emergency lighting
- Install and maintain communication systems, such as intercoms and fire alarm systems
- Install and maintain security systems, including cameras and access control systems
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, diagrams, and schematics
- Follow safety procedures and regulations, and maintain a clean and organized work area
- Communicate with customers to explain electrical issues, and provide estimates for repairs and installations
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational training in electrical systems
- Valid electrician's license or certification, according to state and local regulations
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety procedures, and regulations
- Excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Compensation: $24.00 - $42.00 per hour
