Licensing Specialist - Foster Care Ops
This is a professional position specializing in counseling, casework, and administrative activities in Licensing, responsible for inspecting and licensing programs for childcare, substance abuse, or foster and community care.
What you will do:
- Conducts on-site inspections for programs to monitor compliance with Florida Statutes and Florida Administrative Code licensing standards.
- Maintains tracking system to ensure inspection time frames are met and the correct number of inspections are completed annually.
- Process and review initial and renewal applications, including background screening clearances and training as required by statute.
- Investigate licensing violations and complaints on licensed providers and illegal operations.
- Prepares reports and initiates administrative action as required by statute and/or administrative code
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Child Welfare Certification from FCB preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in Child Welfare.
- A minimum of 1 years' experience foster home licensing preferred.
- Computer Skills to include, but not limited to Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, outlook, Team) Adobe Pro, Florida Safe Family Network (FSFN), internet.
- Ability to travel throughout region is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of theories and practice in child protection and family support.
- Knowledge of professional ethics relating to child protection and counseling.
- Knowledge of family-centered interviewing and counseling techniques.
- Skill in considering child development in guiding placement of children.
- Skill in employing family-centered practice.
- Skill in organizing community resources to assist families.
- Ability to recognize indicators of abuse and neglect.
- Ability to conduct risk and safety investigations.
