Ryder System is seeking an Application Development Lead to drive the design and delivery of applications that power our transportation, warehousing, and fleet operations. In this role, you will translate complex logistics and supply chain needs into scalable, secure software solutions while guiding a small development team. You'll collaborate closely with operations, engineering, and IT to build and integrate applications, services, and APIs that support end-to-end logistics and fleet management.
Working in Ryder's safety-first, customer-focused culture, you'll influence architecture decisions, champion best practices in Agile, CI/CD, and cloud, and support continuous improvement and performance across critical business systems. Responsibilities
- Lead design, development, and enhancement of transportation and logistics applications that support fleet and warehousing operations.
- Translate business and operations requirements into scalable, secure technical solutions and application roadmaps.
- Guide a small team of developers through code reviews, mentoring, and best practices for quality and performance.
- Collaborate with operations, logistics, and IT teams to integrate applications with fleet, warehouse, and supply chain systems.
- Oversee application lifecycle, including release planning, CI/CD pipelines, incident resolution, and performance optimization.
- Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and coding standards within Ryder's technology environment.
- Contribute to architecture decisions involving APIs, integrations, cloud services, and data flows across platforms.
- Provide technical leadership in Agile ceremonies, helping prioritize backlog and estimate development effort.
