SAFETY SUPERVISOR

TALLASSEE, AL

SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE

Serve as the staff specialist in safety by developing and carrying out procedures with the line organization that effectively controls accident and health exposures in the company and minimize OSHA citations. Partner with production leadership to lead a safe, efficient work environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

College level or other Trade School Safety training required.

Minimum 3 year’s experience in manufacturing.

OSHA 30 certification.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assist, plan and implement policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

Maintain regulatory record keeping including OSHA 300 Log, safety training records, KPI (Key Performance Indicators) and team action plans.

Work with all levels of staff to ensure the health and safety program and policies are understood and upheld as a priority and value.

Train all employees, supervisors and management in proper use of PPE; also safety & health, accident prevention and investigation training.

Assist line management by spending appropriate time on production floor to observe workforce for safe behaviors and immediately correct any deficiencies.

Timely report all work-related injuries or illnesses to Company’s worker’s compensation insurance administrator and provide follow-up information as necessary.

Work closely with local medical provider(s) to coordinate emergency services and follow-up care for injured or ill employees.

Conducts employee certifications and renewals.

Must act as a First-Responder for medical emergencies or other urgent situations.

Must be available to work weekends as on‑call and/or swing‑shift if necessary.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.

Strong decision making and problem solving skills.

Excellent computer skills.

Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
