AES a division of Lennox, was established in 1988 and is one of the largest manufacturers of roof curbs and drop box diffuser systems in the nation. We have recently expanded our capabilities as a single source supplier by adding a Mechanical Services Division as well as becoming a Misc. Steel manufacturer. These new services will reduce construction costs and eliminate coordination with multiple suppliers and subcontractors.

Our focus will be to enhance the services provided to our General Contractor network nationwide. AES has 4 different fabrication facility locations nationwide to assist our customers and reduce their freight cost and shipment lead times.

Lennox AES is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Buyer I to support our operations in Tallassee. This role is responsible for sourcing and procuring materials, supplies, and equipment essential to maintaining efficient day-to-day operations.

This position requires the ability to work independently, manage supplier relationships, and drive cost-effective purchasing while ensuring quality and on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procure materials, supplies, and equipment to meet operational requirements
  • Review and validate purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness
  • Source pricing and evaluate vendors for cost, quality, and delivery performance
  • Issue and manage purchase orders with approved suppliers
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and service expectations
  • Track orders to ensure correct quantities and on-time delivery
  • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and inventory
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery or quality issues
  • Partner with Accounting to resolve invoice discrepancies
  • Support strategic sourcing and cost improvement initiatives
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of purchasing or procurement experience preferred
  • Indirect purchasing experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with supplier negotiations and vendor management
Compensation

This is a salaried non-exempt role. This means that employees are paid a salary and also receive overtime pay when they work more than 40 hours in a week (or as otherwise required by state law). The starting salary range for this role and market is between $44,800 - $58,800 annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Employees in this role are also eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the Company’s applicable plan.
