We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative tasks. Your energetic approach and strong organizational skills will ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and efficient patient flow. The ideal candidate will be proficient in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Medent with a solid understanding of medical terminology, coding practices including CPT, ICD-9, and ICD-10, and HIPAA compliance.

- Greet patients warmly and manage the check-in/check-out process with professionalism and enthusiasm
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and conduct insurance verification to facilitate billing processes
- Schedule appointments efficiently ensuring optimal patient flow
- Collect and process payments accurately through medical billing systems while maintaining detailed documentation review
- Maintain accurate and organized medical records, including filing and updating patient information in EMR systems
- Assist with intake procedures by collecting patient information, updating health histories, and explaining clinic policies
- Answer multi-line phone systems promptly with excellent phone etiquette; direct calls appropriately and handle inquiries effectively
- Support medical administrative functions such as data entry, typing reports, and managing office correspondence using Microsoft Office tools
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure proper documentation review and adherence to medical coding standards for billing purposes
- Uphold HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality during all interactions and documentation processes
- Prior clinic or medical office experience is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards, and Medicare guidelines
- Experience in insurance verification, and care plan documentation is advantageous.
- Proven clerical skills including filing, multi-line phone handling, data entry (10 key typing), and office management tasks
- Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette in a fast-paced environment.
