Job Title:
Welder / Fitter Pay Rate: $22/hr.
- $26/hr boe Shift: 1st (7am - 3:30pm) and 2nd (4:15pm - 2:45am)
Position Summary:
The Welder/Fitter is responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints to accurately position, align, and fit metal components prior to welding. This role performs MIG, TIG, and other welding processes to fabricate and assemble parts to precise specifications while maintaining quality and safety standards in a manufacturing environment.
- Study blueprints, assembly instructions, and material lists to plan work activities
- Gather required materials, tools, and equipment for each job
- Lay out and measure parts and subassemblies according to specifications
- Fit and align components using proper measuring and layout techniques
- Tack weld components to ensure proper fit-up prior to final welding
- Perform welding operations (MIG, TIG, and other processes as required)
- Inspect completed assemblies to verify dimensions, tolerances, and quality standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve fit-up or assembly issues; escalate when necessary
- Adjust dimensions or components when approved to meet specifications
- Operate fabrication equipment such as grinders, torches, and material handling equipment
- Maintain welding supplies and report inventory needs
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
- Support team operations and assist with additional duties as assigned
- Work overtime as required to meet production demands
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required Previous manufacturing or fabrication experience preferred Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills Basic shop math skills (fractions, measurements, tolerances) Knowledge of welding processes, materials, and equipment

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Work performed in a manufacturing/industrial environment Regular standing for extended periods Frequent use of hands and tools requiring dexterity Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely Exposure to noise, heat, and typical shop conditions
