Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
The Staff Accountant’s primary responsibility will be to support the accounting team in routine activities which include maintaining general ledger accounts and reconciliations, preparing monthly financial reports, developing and maintaining various financial reports.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and associated adjusting journal entries
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements for multiple entities
- Record and maintain accounting for fixed assets
- Maintain prepaid schedules and create journal entries
- Reconcile accounts
- Create and prepare journal entries relating to accounts payables, accruals, and inventory
- Assist with month-end close
- Assist with implementing cost reductions and process control improvements
- Analyze and verify information by developing spreadsheet reports
- Accounting and administration for multiple entities
- Prepare information and respond to internal/external inquiries
- Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Manager
- Work with the team on periodic projects as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or 5+ years of equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Prior experience with general ledger systems is a plus
- Prior experience working as an accountant or bookkeeper is a plus
Skills and Abilities
- Must demonstrate expert knowledge of accounting principles and familiarity with GAAP, as well as an ability to grasp company financial policies and protocols.
- Strong computer skills and proficient in MS Office products, particularly in Excel
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently within small teams
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to communicate in a professional manner-- able to counsel/teach customers, train co-workers, and positively contribute to marketing/public relations. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from patients, regulatory agencies, or members of the medical and business community.

Office is located in Tampa, FL. The job will be Monday through Friday typically 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Work hours may be subject to change.
