Schedule: Monday to Friday | 8:00am to 5:00pm

Term: Temp to hire

What’s a typical day as an Accounting Specialist? You’ll be: .

Key Responsibilities
Core Accounting & Bookkeeping
  • Perform daily and monthly bookkeeping activities across AP, AR, cash receipts, cash disbursements, and general ledger.
  • Prepare, enter, and review journal entries including accruals, prepaids, and reclasses.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and identify discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate and organized accounting records.
Accounts Payable (Primary Focus Initially)
  • Manage full-cycle AP: invoice intake, coding, approvals, posting, and payment processing.
  • Ensure timely vendor payments and resolve any discrepancies with vendors.
  • Review AP aging and support cash flow planning.
Month‑End & Reporting Support
  • Assist with month‑end close, including reconciliations, journal entry support, and variance explanations.
  • Support preparation of internal financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with the accounting manager on process improvements and workflow optimization.
Cross‑Functional Support
  • Provide coverage for the experienced team member transitioning to part‑time, including more complex bookkeeping tasks as needed.
  • Work closely with the AR‑focused staff member to ensure proper cash application and account accuracy.
Required Experience & Skills
  • 3–5+ years of hands‑on accounting or full‑charge bookkeeping experience.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger transactions, AP/AR processes, and month‑end close procedures
  • Experience preparing and posting journal entries
  • Proficiency with accounting software (Quick Books Online)
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work independently
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast‑paced environment
