Project Accountant

Burgess Civil is growing, and we’re looking for an entry‑level Project Accountant to support our project teams and help keep our financial operations running smoothly. • Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable for construction projects
• Support project billing, including gathering backup, assembling pay apps, and tracking approvals
• Assist with subcontractor compliance (COIs, W-9s, lien waivers, etc.)
• Collect and track lien releases from subcontractors and vendors
• Coordinate payment collections with clients and internal teams
• Provide project-specific accounting support to Project Managers
• Communicate professionally with PMs, subcontractors, and vendors
• Help maintain accurate project files and documentation
• Jump in and assist with other accounting tasks as needed

• Accounting (or similar) degree
• Strong Excel skills (sorting, filtering, formulas, pivots, etc.)
• Highly detail-oriented and organized
• Strong communicator – comfortable working with PMs, vendors, and subcontractors
• Quick learner with the ability to pick things up fast
• Customer‑service mindset and team-first attitude
• Must be willing to learn!

• Experience in construction accounting
• Familiarity with Foundation Software
• Exposure to construction documents (COIs, pay apps, lien releases)
