We are looking for a full‑time Assistant Accounting Manager to support our rapidly growing company!
Job Title: Assistant Accounting Manager
Employment Status: Full‑time, exempt
Schedule: M-F, 8am-5pm
Salary: Starting at $65,000/year, commensurate with experience
Responsibilities- Manage and/or perform accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, and general ledger accounting processes for efficiency and accuracy.
- Manage and/or perform the reconciliation of accounting ledgers.
- Manage cash flows, bank account transfers, and reconciliation of monthly bank statements.
- Prepare timely and accurate weekly reports and monthly financial statements.
- Assist with the annual budgeting and planning process.
- Guide daily accounting workflows.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
- Enhance internal controls and financial processes across the organization.
- Interpret accounting standards and resolve technical accounting matters.
- Prepare documentation and schedules for external auditors.
- Monitor variances and help leadership understand performance drivers.
- Support special projects tied to organizational growth and efficiency.
- Perform and/or assist with AP activities to ensure timely, accurate vendor payments.
- Assist with AR billing, collections, and customer account maintenance as needed.
- Assist with rental billing cycles, including recurring/period-based invoicing and ensuring invoices align with supporting documentation.
- Review and validate rental documentation (examples may include PODs, delivery tickets, return documentation, rental periods, and supporting approvals).
- Assist with researching and resolving customer billing issues, including corrections, adjustments, and credit memo support as needed.
- Maintain accurate invoice records and supporting documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (prior relevant work experience may be considered in place of a degree).
- 5+ years prior experience in a similar role.
- Prior experience working with government contracts (preferred).
- Hands‑on experience with month‑end close including accruals, reconciliations, and light analysis.
- Strong command of GAAP and financial control frameworks.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage complex data.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to multi‑task when necessary.
- Great oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of state and federal laws that apply to the duties of this position.
- Must be able to analyze information and make recommendations to management as needed.
- Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions within the scope of the position.
- Ability to maintain strict organization and customer confidentiality.
