Staff Accountant

A growing multi-location organization is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. The organization offers exposure to a broad range of accounting functions, financial reporting activities, and month‑end close responsibilities while providing opportunities for professional growth.

The Staff Accountant will support day‑to‑day accounting operations, including account reconciliations, journal entries, month‑end close activities, financial reporting support, and special projects. This role works closely with finance leadership and plays a key part in maintaining accurate and timely financial records across multiple business entities.

• Prepare and maintain fixed asset and construction‑in‑progress reconciliations.
• Record journal entries related to fixed assets, accruals, prepaid expenses, accounts payable, and inventory.
• Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain prepaid expense schedules and supporting documentation.
• Reconcile intercompany transactions and account balances.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and related schedules.
• Respond to internal and external requests for financial information.
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.
• Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 1-3 years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

• Experience working in a multi‑entity environment.
• Exposure to ERP or cloud‑based accounting systems.
• Experience supporting month‑end close and financial statement preparation.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, and other business and organizational needs. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
