Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting for the Tampa, Florida team. This role will play a key part in managing the monthly close cycle, maintaining ledger integrity, and preparing essential reconciliations and entries. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

- Lead key activities within the monthly close process to help deliver timely and accurate financial results.

- Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation and a strong focus on accuracy.

- Maintain the general ledger by reviewing account activity, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring proper classification of transactions.

- Perform detailed account reconciliations to verify balances and identify items requiring follow-up or correction.

- Complete bank reconciliations on a recurring basis and investigate any variances between bank records and internal accounts.

- Support financial reporting by organizing accounting records and confirming the completeness of period-end data.

- Partner with internal stakeholders to address accounting questions, improve processes, and strengthen reporting reliability. Requirements - 5+ years of accounting experience, including work in a senior-level accounting capacity.

- Demonstrated expertise in managing month-end close activities within a deadline-driven environment.

- Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting and the preparation of journal entries.

- Experience performing account reconciliations and researching variances through resolution.

- Proven ability to complete bank reconciliations accurately and consistently.

- High level of attention to detail with strong analytical and organizational skills.

- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
